Unsure Which Notarial Certificate You Need?

If you are unsure which notarial certificate your document requires, please consult the issuing agency or seek legal guidance before your appointment. Notaries are not authorized to determine which notarial act you need. If your document does not include notarial wording, a loose certificate may be provided, but you must specify the type required.

Remote Online Notarization allows you to have eligible documents notarized securely from virtually anywhere using a trusted online platform. It is a convenient option for busy professionals, out-of-state signers, and anyone who needs efficient notarization without travel.

Requirements for Online Notarization:

  • Access to a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device with camera and microphone

  • A stable, high-speed internet connection

  • A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID

  • Ability to pass Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) for identity verification.

  • Note: A basic understanding of how to use a computer and navigate online platforms is required to complete remote online notarization successfully.

Identification Requirements

What are the ID requirements for notary services?

All signers must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID at the time of notarization. This is required by law to verify your identity and complete the notarial act properly. Acceptable forms of identification include:

United States passport
United States passport card
Certificate of United States citizenship
Certificate of naturalization
Foreign passport
United States green card (Permanent Resident Card) with photograph
State issued driver’s license
State issued identification card
United States military identification card.
