Frequently asked questions

What is the primary duty of a notary public?
A notary’s primary duty is to serve as an impartial witness to the signing of important documents, verifying the identity of signers, ensuring their willingness and awareness, and completing notarial certificates in accordance with state law.
What documents can a notary public NOT notarize?

Notaries cannot notarize incomplete documents, documents they have a personal or financial interest in, or vital records like birth/death certificates. Some states also prohibit notarizing immigration documents without special authorization. If you have questions about documents we can or cannot notarize, contact us.
What types of identification are acceptable for notarization?
Acceptable IDs typically include government-issued photo identification such as a state driver’s license, state ID card, U.S. passport, military ID, or other government-issued IDs that contain a photo, signature, and physical description. The ID must be current or within a legally allowed expiration period.
How do notaries verify identity in remote online notarizations also known as R.O.N?
R.O.N requires multi-factor identity verification, including credential analysis of government-issued IDs, biometric facial recognition, knowledge-based authentication questions, and continuous real-time audiovisual interaction to confirm the signer’s identity.
Why is there a deposit for booking an appointment?

The non-refundable scheduling fee is required to reserve your appointment time and ensure dedicated availability for your notarial service. This fee helps reduce no-shows and last-minute cancellations, allowing us to manage our calendar efficiently. When appointments are not confirmed, those time slots remain unavailable to others who may need service. By securing your appointment with a deposit, you help us better serve all clients by keeping the schedule open for those ready to proceed. The remaining balance is collected at the time of service.

Do you have a walk-in location?
We do not operate from a public storefront at this time. Our services are designed for your convenience; we offer mobile notary appointments where we come to you, as well as secure remote online notarizations that can be completed from the comfort of your home or office.

A stable, high-speed internet connection, a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID and ability to pass Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) for identity verification.
